Yaroslavsky Park

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Los Angeles city councilman today proposed naming a portion of a Westwood park after Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, whose 20-year tenure on the county board ends in November.

Councilman Paul Koretz wants a playground at HolmbyPark named after Yaroslavsky, who previously spent 20 years on the City Council, where he represented the Fifth District from 1975 until 1994.

Koretz's motion has been assigned to the Arts, Parks, Health, Aging and River Committee.

Yaroslavsky is termed out after sitting on the Board of Supervisors since 1994. He said last month he would not run for the congressional seat being vacated by Rep. Henry Waxman, saying he was sticking to an earlier statement that “four decades in elected office was long enough.”
