Possible Pipe Bomb Shuts Down Part Of 101 Freeway

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The California Highway Patrol has shut down the north and  southbound lanes of the Ventura (101) Freeway between Mulholland Drive/Valley Circle Boulevard and Shoup Avenue because a suspicious capped pipe has been found on the shoulder of the highway, says CHP Officer Ed Jacobs.

UPDATE - That suspicious pipe found on the northbound side of the Ventura  (101) Freeway at Woodlake Avenue between Mulholland Drive/Valley Circle  Boulevard and Shoup Avenue has been determined to be harmless, and all lanes of  the freeway are reopening, says CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos.
