LA Holds On To Hope For A Pro Football Team

The L.A. City Council says it's asking the National Football League -- again -- to place a team in the city. Councilman Tom LaBonge says it never hurts to ask again, even though all the other asking and begging has produced no promise of a team.

Labonge says, "I just wanted to remind us, this is the opportunity. Every season there is a new, and you never know what a little letter will do."

The city is ready to move ahead with the construction of a new football stadium next door to Staples Center, but that deal is contingent on a team making a multi-year commitment to LA. The NFL has not commented publicly on its plans.
