A photographer has hired attorney Gloria Allred to sue singer-rapper Kanye West, KFI's Jo Kwon reports.
LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A paparazzo who claims he was attacked by Kanye West at Los Angeles International Airport filed a lawsuit against the rapper today, saying the assault left him on crutches.
``When Kanye West attacked me, I was in complete shock,'' Daniel Ramos said during a news conference with his attorney, Gloria Allred. ``All I had done was ask him a question. I was terrified when Kanye started to come at me. I backed up because I felt from the look in his eyes that he was going to attack me.''
The alleged attack occurred July 19 outside the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX.
Last week, the District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against the rapper, citing insufficient evidence and noting in an evaluation worksheet that the photographer ``did not sustain significant injury.''
The case was referred to the City Attorney's Office for consideration of possible misdemeanor charges.
West's attorney has insisted that the rapper was only trying to prevent a photographer from taking his picture.
The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit includes allegations of assault, battery and negligence against the rapper.
``Mr. West suddenly attacked Danny, punching him and attempting to wrestle Danny's camera from his hands,'' Allred said.
``Danny held onto his camera and fell down onto his knees onto the paved sidewalk with enough force that he sustained injuries to his right hip, was in great pain and had to be transported in an ambulance to the emergency room.''
Ramos said he had to use crutches after the attack, and more recently a cane.
During the news conference, Allred also had harsh words for other celebrities, including Kirstie Alley and Cher, who defended West's actions on Twitter.
